Goldfish 36 to Defend Round Britain Race Title In 2012

Goldfish 29

Salterns Boatyard has announced that Goldfish Boat’s flagship, the Goldfish 36P1 Super Sport RIB will be entering the greatly anticipated 2012 Round Britain Race. This follows their success in the 2008 race where the 36 emphatically won her class, breaking the record for the fastest RIB around Britain along the way. General Manager of Salterns Boatyad and member of the record breaking 2008 team, James Sydenham will once again take part, alongside the father and son duo, Stuart and Steven Munro of Nautic Marine Services in Poole, the new owners of the Goldfish 36 having moved up from a Goldfish 29.

The trio will race under the team name ‘Rooster’ with the number 36 appropriately their race number. Team ‘Rooster’ will not only be defending the 36’s Round Britain Race title but will also enter a host of other top powerboat races in the run up to the RB12, including the 2010 Round Britain RIB Rally, the 2011 Round Britain Powerboat Race and the 50th anniversary Cowes Torquay Cowes Powerboat Race in August 2010.

“The Round Britain Race is the perfect way to show what these superb boats can really do, as was shown with the results in 2008. There is virtually no other production leisure boat that even gets close to the 36 in terms of speed, handling and manoeuvrability, especially when faced with rough sea conditions. These are some of the key reasons why the Goldfish 36 is so well suited to the Round Britain Race and why we are looking forward to building on her previous successes with the 2012 race,” explained James Sydenham.

The Goldfish 36 was designed and built by Norwegian company Goldfish AS leaving nothing to chance in creating one of the world’s most impressive RIB’s. There is an impeccable attention to detail throughout with only the highest quality of materials used, affirming the boats long term reliability and performance.

The incredible power for the 36 comes from dual inboard diesels which provide top speeds of up to 80 knots, whilst the unique decompressing zones in the hull equip the RIB with superb manoeuvrability and handling. Although prominent in the racing circuit, the 36 has seen a sharp rise in demand within the luxury tender and leisure markets. T

he RIB is not only exceptionally fast and fun but also extremely comfortable and safe, making it perfect for use as a luxury tender and leisure boat. The sole UK distributor of Goldfish Boats, Salterns Boatyard, will be displaying the Goldfish 36 at the Tullet Prebon London International Boat Show on stand S038B.
